Itinerary

Assistance on arrival at Dharamshala by over night Volvo Bus from Delhi Majnu Ka Tilla.After fresh an up and Breakfast we start drive to Galu temple and start trek to Laka Glacier. Its is a beautiful walk through mixed forests of deodar, oak and rhododendron. Enroute we stop for lunch at Triund.Triund is situated on a ridge with a beautiful view of whole Kangra valley on one side and Dhauladhar mountain range on the other. After a short ascent from Triund traverse a ridge to reach Laka Got a temporary shepherd camp. Laka Got is situated at the snout of small glacier, which is full of snow and ice in early summer, and the snow melts away during the monsoon.O/N at Laka Gote.

The route to Deep Gote and Jari Gote descends from north of Laka through a hard snow , which is about 4 Km. From Jari Gote the route gradually climbs to Rehlu Gote and then desends to Kanjrala, a very flat area with splendid meadows here shepherds stay for long time with their flocks of sheep and gots.The trek passes through very dense forest of mixed variety. Leopards bears and kakars wild goat and number of rare Himalayan birds are a common sight as they abound in these forest.O/N at Deep Gotea beautiful camp site.

The route heads up to Bagga on a shepherd trail and it takes about 5 to 6 Hrs to reach Bagga.This place is located on tha ridge and has a place to pitch the tents.A serai (Pilgrims for an overnight stay at this place.Water can be had from close by stream.There is thin vegetation around this place.Bagga offer panoramic views of the valley below and of the plains as well.O/N Bagga Dhar.

It takes about 5 to 6 Hrs.to reach Kareri village from Bagga.The route from Bagga to Kareri steeply desecends through a thick forest down to Barlehi village.One must climb down carefully to avoid slips.After climb Gaj and Rawa stream we reach road head side.O/N camp at Kareri Village.

After breakfast trek down hill to Ghera a little hydro project on road head side.From there we use transportation to Mcleod Ganj.TREK END.

Transport Options (Delhi – Mcleod ganj – Delhi)
For travel to Mcleod ganj and back one can choose between air, rail & road. For air travel, the closest airport is the Gaggal DHM, also known as Kangra Airport, or Dharamshala Airport and is well connected to Delhi and other parts of the country by Indigo, Alliance Air , Spice Jet.

There are frequent Public Transport buses including Volvos available from Delhi to Mcleodganj that cost about Rs. 1200- 1500 per person. These buses depart from Majnu ka tilla every 30 mins. or so and take about 12 hrs to cover the distance. The same is also applicable on the return journey. A private vehicle could also be arranged for if you require the same.

Weather Details
Summer in Mcleod ganj extends from March to June when the temperature variation is recorded to be ranging between 23°c and 27°c. Mercury sometimes reaches up to 38°c but never goes beyond that. During winters the temperature can drop to -1° and the maximum temperature hardly goes up to 20°c.
