OVERVIEW
Bijli Mahadev is one of the sacred temples of the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. It is located at an altitude of about 2,460m[1] in the Kullu Valley. Bijli Mahadev is one of the excellent temples in India. Located 22 km from Kullu across the Beas river, it can be approached by a rewarding trek of 3 km. A panoramic view of Kullu and Paravati valleys can be seen from the temple. The 60 feet high staff of Bijli Mahadev temple glistens like a silver needle in the sun.
In this temple of lightning, it is said that the tall staff attracts the divine blessings in the form of lightning. It is believed that the priest of the temple has to restore the Shiva linga placed inside the temple using butter and sattoo after every lightning as it shatters to pieces with flash of lightning.
ITINERARY
DAY 1: Manali to Naggar / Jana (2100mts.) 4hrs.
The starting point of the trek is the old capital of Kullu Naggar is just 21 km. from Manali. To reach the village Nashala you need to take a natural road that leads through beautiful deodar forests. Then walk gradually for about 4 to 5 hrs and reach the camp of the day Jana.

DAY 2 : Jana to Matikochar (2340mts.) 5 hrs.
A well build road leads to matikocchar where one can view the lovely valley of Kullu and the surroundings snow clad peaks. The lights during the night can be seen from the camp.

DAY 3: Matikochar to Bijli Mahadev (2460mts.) 4hrs.
Walk gradually through the Kais wild life sentury that leads towards the temple of lord Shiva. The twin valleys of Beas and Parvati can be seen from the camp at Bijli Mahadev.

DAY 4: Bijli Mahadev to Manali 1 hrs. trekking 3 hrs. by jeep.
It takes one hour to Puid Village . it is connected by the road. Then we can ride the jeep from Puid to Manali or other option is we can descent to Sharsari in the Parvati valley then drive to Manikaran hot spring.

Transport Options (Delhi - Manali - Delhi)
For travel to Manali and back one can choose between air & road. For air travel, the closest airport is the Bhuntar KUU, also known as Kullu Airport, or Bhuntar Airport and is well connected to Delhi and other parts of the country by Air India.
There are frequent Public Transport buses including Volvos available from Delhi to Manali that cost about Rs. 850 - 1200 per person. These buses depart from ISBT. or so and take about 14 hrs to cover the distance. The same is also applicable on the return journey. A private vehicle could also be arranged for if you require the same.
Weather Details
Summer in Manali extends from March to June when the temperature variation is recorded to be ranging between 15°c and 20°c. Mercury sometimes reaches up to 25°c but never goes beyond that. During winters the temperature can drop to -1° and the maximum temperature hardly goes up to 20°c.
